Treatments Options

  • Chiropractic adjustments, also known as joint mobilistions, involve precise, controlled movements to specific joints. These techniques aim to improve joint function, reduce pain, and enhance overall mobility. Adjustments or mobilisations are performed manually or with specialised instruments.

  • Dry needling is a technique used to treat muscle pain and dysfunction. Practitioners insert thin, sterile needles into trigger points or tight muscle bands to relieve pain, reduce muscle tension, and improve movement. It is based on Western medical principles and differs from acupuncture.

    How it works:

    1. Inserting the Needle: Fine, thin needles are inserted into specific points in the muscle, known as trigger points. These trigger points are tight bands within the muscle that can cause pain and discomfort.

    2. Stimulation of Trigger Point: The insertion of the needle helps to stimulate the trigger points and surrounding tissue. This can cause a local twitch response, which is a quick contraction of the muscle fibers. This response is believed to help release tension in the muscle.

    3. Physiological Responses. The needle insertion may lead to several physiological responses, such as increased blood flow to the area, reduction of inflammation, and release of endogenous opioids (natural pain-relieving substances produced by the body).

    4. Neuromuscular Changes. Dry needling may alter the may nerves se d signals to the muscles, helping reset the neuromuscular system. This can reduce pain and improve muscle function.

    5. Pain Modulation. The technique may also help modulate pain by influencing central and peripheral nervous system pathways, thereby reducing the sensation of pain

  • Soft tissue therapy encompasses various techniques, including massage, myofascial release, and stretching, to treat muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia. The goal is to alleviate pain, reduce muscle tension, improve circulation, and promote healing in soft tissues.

  • Rehabiltation involves personalised exercise programs designed to restore strength, flexibility, and function after injury or surgery. It focuses on improving overall physical health, preventing future injuries, and enhancing quality of life through targeted exercises and activities.
